247 - The home of rapper Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, known as Oruam, was the target of a new operation by the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police on Monday night (21), in the Joá neighborhood, one of the most prestigious areas of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. This is the second time in less than six months that members of the Comando Vermelho criminal faction have been located at the same address. The information is from splash.
The operation began after reports that a juvenile offender, suspected of participating in several vehicle thefts in the state and identified as a security guard for drug trafficker Edgar Alves de Andrade, known as "Doca," was hiding in the residence. Upon leaving the house with four other people, the minor was approached by civil police officers, who seized a cell phone and a necklace in his possession.
At the time of the approach, Oruam and eight other men allegedly appeared on the balcony of the property and reacted by hurling insults and throwing stones at the officers. According to an official statement from the Civil Police, one of the individuals even tried to intimidate the officers by declaring: "One of them even claimed to be the son of Márcio dos Santos Nepomuceno, 'Marcinho VP', one of the main leaders of Comando Vermelho, as a form of intimidation."
During the commotion, one of the men ran back inside the residence and was eventually arrested. He was charged with crimes including contempt of court, aggravated resistance, bodily harm, threats, damage to public property, and conspiracy to traffic drugs.
Oruam, however, managed to flee the scene with other individuals. In videos later posted to his Instagram profile, the rapper documented the police activity and reported being the target of an attempted arrest.
“There are more than 20 police cars at my door. The same police chief who arrested me. I was leaving, he put a gun to my face and tried to arrest me. We managed to get out, man,” he stated. In another recording, Oruam appears inside a car, challenging the authorities: “Come here and get me in the complex.” He then posted a new location indicating that he was in the Penha Complex, in the northern zone of Rio.
On the morning of this Tuesday (22), the Secretary of Civil Police of Rio, delegate Felipe Curi, confirmed in an interview to Good morning RioAccording to TV Globo, Oruam will be formally indicted. "He's a thug, a bandit, a delinquent, a criminal, associated with drug trafficking," he declared.
According to the secretary, the rapper will be charged with conspiracy to traffic drugs, aggravated resistance, contempt of court, and damage to public property. The police also highlighted that, despite Oruam's claims of innocence or persecution on social media, the evidence gathered so far points to his direct connection with members of the Comando Vermelho (Red Command). "They thwarted a legitimate state action," stated Felipe Curi.
