247 - One day after the tragic landslide of one of the walls of the Capitólio canyonsIn Minas Gerais, firefighters have resumed the search operation for missing persons, and police are working to identify bodies. There are still three people missing. So far, seven deaths have been confirmed.
The search operation was interrupted on Saturday night (8) due to lack of visibility. The work will resume this Sunday (9) with the participation of divers and other military personnel from the fire department, Navy, Civil Defense and other authorities.
There is also much work to be done to identify the seven bodies already recovered, as they were seriously compromised by the impact with the rocks. The identifications are being carried out by Minas Gerais state civil police and federal police. The operation is taking place at the IML (Forensic Medical Institute) in Passos, a city located about an hour from Capitólio.
