Bolsonaro says Zema's support in the second round is "decisive" and affirms that the alliance with Cláudio Castro, from Rio, is already "sealed."

247 - Jair Bolsonaro (PL) received in Brasília this Tuesday (4) the formal support of the re-elected governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo). The head of the federal Executive said that the support of the Minas Gerais governor was "essential" and "decisive" for the second round. In Minas Gerais, Bolsonaro received 43,60% of the votes and former president Lula (PT) 48,29%.

"This support from Governor Zema is very welcome; it's the second state with the largest electorate in Brazil, and it's crucial. Tradition dictates that only those who win there can truly reach the Presidency of the Republic. I appreciate Zema's support at this moment. More than welcome, it's essential, it's decisive for our reelection."

Bolsonaro also said he has already forged alliances with the re-elected governors of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL), Paraná, Ratinho Júnior (PSD), and Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil). "I spoke with Cláudio Castro by phone. His support is confirmed. I also spoke with Ronaldo Caiado, from Goiás. We should meet soon. I also spoke with Ratinho Júnior, from Paraná.  In his speech, Bolsonaro also repeated several fake news stories - such as the claim that his government was responsible for the creation of Pix - and attacks on the PT and Lula.

Lula's campaign has not yet given up on negotiating with Cláudio Castro and wants to forge a national alliance with the PSDB., in addition to Simone Tebet's MDB and Ciro Gomes' PDT.
