Bolsonaro supporter Roberto Jefferson spends the night in Benfica prison, in Rio.
The former congressman arrived at the prison at 1:10 AM, approximately 14 hours after the start of the tension with the police officers who came to arrest him.
247 - Bolsonaro supporter Roberto Jefferson arrived at the Benfica prison in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Monday (24), around 14 hours after the tension began at his home in the municipality of Levy Gasparian.
Jefferson fired a rifle and a grenade at Federal Police agents to resist arrest, an order issued by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
Initially, Moraes had issued an arrest warrant against the former congressman for violating house arrest measures. Later, the minister ordered his arrest in flagrante delicto on charges of attempted murder.
"There was a plan to transfer him to Bangu 8, in the Gericinó Penitentiary Complex, still on Monday. From the attack on the officers, around 11 am on Sunday, to his arrival in Benfica, at 1:15 am on Monday, there were 14 hours of tension," it reports. G1 report.
