247 - Federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (Psol-SP) stated that the vice-presidential candidate on his ticket in the race for mayor of São Paulo next year will be nominated by the PT (Workers' Party). "My running mate will be from the PT. That's already decided," Boulos told the journalist's column. Paulo Cappelli, from Metrópoles.

The lawmaker's statement comes in the wake of the repercussions of a video in which the presenter José Luiz Datena He is trying to convince him to form a ticket to run for mayor of the capital of São Paulo in 2024.

In the interview, Boulos emphasized the importance of establishing a broad front of progressive parties for the municipal elections. “I have great confidence that we will move forward together in a progressive front in São Paulo, with the PT, the PCdoB, the PV, Rede, which is federated with PSOL. And eventually with the PDT, with the PSB, which today has its own candidate that I respect, but I think is in the field. Eventually with Solidariedade, with parties from the progressive field that were, some of them, in the very front to elect President Lula, because it is essential to present a project for São Paulo,” he said.

The congressman also said he believes the municipal election will be marked by polarization. “Polarization is natural. São Paulo is not an island. It's inevitable that the national polarization between Bolsonaro supporters and the left will also be reflected in the municipal election. I believe that Bolsonaro supporters will have a candidate in São Paulo. If it's Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), I will be delighted to face him. I already faced him in the race for federal deputy and received more votes than him. I hope to face him, him or any other Bolsonaro-supporting candidate, possibly even the current mayor (Ricardo Nunes-MDB).”
