For Vasco, only victory matters.
The team from São Januário plays tonight against the Peruvian team in Lima, for the Copa Libertadores; without Juninho, the team is counting on Felipe to win the game and not depend on other results for qualification.
Rio Agency - The Vasco squad inspected the pitch at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium, in Lima, Peru, on Monday night (2), as part of the players' preparations for tonight's game Tuesday (3) against Alianza, for the Copa Libertadores de América, considered by everyone in the Vasco delegation to be of fundamental importance for the team's aspirations in the continental tournament. The team needs to win tonight's game in order not to be dependent on a combination of results to qualify for the next phase of the tournament.
Dedé was the referee for the friendly match, having been rested due to pain in his left calf. However, the defender will be available for the match against Alianza, scheduled to begin at 22 PM (Brasilia time), for the fifth round of the Libertadores Cup.
The Vasco da Gama delegation landed in Lima, Peru, around 1:30 AM this Monday (Brasilia time) and members of the club's technical staff conducted a checklist at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium. The "Colossus of the Mammoth," as the stadium located in Lima, Peru is also known, was built in 1974 and has a capacity to hold approximately 35 spectators.
Vasco will be without Juninho, who, suffering from inflammation in his mouth, will undergo surgery in Rio. The midfielder took a blow to the mouth in Vasco's Libertadores debut against Nacional at São Januário and was playing through the pain. After the game against Macaé, the coaching staff decided to rest him for this match. Felipe was rested for the game against Macaé in order to face Alianza this Tuesday.
