247 - Lawyer Luís Gustavo Botto Maia, one of the targets of Operation Anjo, was dismissed from his position at the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj) this Tuesday (23). The decision is published in the Official Gazette.
According to the investigation by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), Maia, who worked with then-state deputy and current senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ), allegedly destroyed evidence. He attempted to deceive prosecutors and the courts in the "rachadinha" scheme.
The scheme involves the senator and former advisor Fabrício Queiroz, arrested last Thursday (18), in Atibaia (SP).
Luís Gustavo was appointed to the office of state representative Renato Zeca (independent).
The prosecution alleges in the indictment that Botto Maia "exceeded all limits of the practice of law."
