Rio 247 - The president of the Legislative Assembly (Alerj), Jorge Picciani (PMDB), has once again postponed the end of the voting on the austerity package. After a meeting with the PMDB member, deputy Wanderson Nogueira (PSOL) informed that two of the four projects scheduled for voting on Wednesday (14) will be taken to the plenary next Monday (19). According to the parliamentarian, more time is needed to dialogue with the classes. The information was later confirmed by the House's press office.
The commander of the Military Police, Wolnei Dias, the secretary Roberto Sá, and representatives of the labor unions in the security sector also participated in the meeting. This group would be one of the most affected: on Wednesday, they were scheduled to vote on postponing the salary increase for security personnel (police officers, firefighters, and prison guards) and increasing the pension contributions for all categories.
Two other less controversial projects scheduled for a vote this Wednesday are the adjustment of monthly budget allocations to actual revenue and a ceiling for the growth of personnel expenses.
