Brazil Agency - A team from the Scientific Police continues the forensic work, together with the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa), to find out more details about the circumstances of the plane crash in the Barra Funda neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo. The accident happened on the morning of this Friday (7).

So far, what has been observed through videos is that the aircraft, when it was already out of control, collided with a tree or power line. After the impact, the base of the plane scraped the asphalt and immediately exploded, raising a dense, dark smoke.

Just a few meters from where the plane crashed, several vehicles were stopped at a traffic light. Until 10:30 AM, police authorities were blocking sections of Avenida Marquês de São Vicente to prevent the indiscriminate circulation of pedestrians and vehicles, which would hinder forensic investigations.

Little remained of the aircraft, which was almost completely consumed by flames. Only a fraction of the front section survived the accident. The bus that was hit had its rear and interior severely damaged by the fire and was covered in soot. The vehicle belongs to Viação Santa Brígida and was operating on line 8.500-10, between the Pirituba and Barra Funda terminals.
