Accused of killing Marielle, Élcio de Queiroz says he found rifle ammunition in the street.
In testimony during a trial for illegal possession of a restricted firearm, Élcio Vieira de Queiroz, accused of killing Marielle Franco, stated during questioning that the rifle ammunition found in his car when he was arrested was discovered on the street.
247 - Élcio Vieira de Queiroz, who along with Ronnie Lessa is facing charges in court for the deaths of councilwoman Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes, said in an interrogation this Thursday (12) that the rifle ammunition that was inside his car when he was arrested he had found on a flowerbed in front of his house. The statement was given in the context of a process in which he is charged with illegal possession of a restricted firearm.
Regarding the two pistols and over one hundred rounds of ammunition found in his house, Queiroz stated that they were purchased when he was a police officer. According to him, the weapons served only to guarantee the safety of his family. As for the eight rifle rounds found packaged inside his car, Queiroz stated that he found them the night before his arrest, in a flowerbed in front of his house.
Queiroz said he decided to store the weapons because he was concerned about the safety of the residents, who could accidentally detonate them.
This version, however, differs from the one in the indictment, where police officers claim that, at the time of the arrest, Queiroz allegedly said that the ammunition belonged to him.
