2014 in Rio: voters prefer Dilma and Garotinho.
A survey of 4.738 voters indicates a consolidated lead for former governor Anthony Garotinho (PR-RJ), with 26% of voting intentions, and a recovery in the popularity of President Dilma Rousseff, who would have 49%, compared to 13% for Aécio Neves and 9% for Eduardo Campos; a drop in the approval rating of Governor Sergio Cabral, who has only 2% excellent and 17% good, also makes his election to the Federal Senate very difficult.
Rio 247 – An electoral poll registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) by the Ulrich Propaganda and Marketing Institute, which surveyed 4.738 voters throughout Rio de Janeiro between November 21st and 25th, reveals the current state of the 2014 election in the state. In the race for the Guanabara Palace (Rio de Janeiro state government headquarters), former governor and current congressman Anthony Garotinho (PR-RJ) is consolidating his lead. Nationally, President Dilma Rousseff has recovered and also consolidated a good advantage over Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG) and Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB).
In one scenario for the state government, Garotinho reaches 26% of the votes, followed by Marcelo Crivella, of the PRB party. Here are the numbers:
Anthony Garotinho (PR) 26%
Marcelo Crivella (PRB) 18%
Lindbergh Farias (PT) 12%
Pezão (PMDB) 6%
In a race with more candidates, Garotinho still leads, with 23%.
Anthony Garotinho (PR) 23%
Marcelo Crivella (PRB) 15%
Lindbergh Farias (PT) 9%
Cesar Maia (DEM) 5%
Pezão (PMDB) 5%
Jandira Feghali (PCdoB) 3%
Bernardinho (PSDB) 3%
Miro Teixeira (PDT) 2%
In Rio, the numbers also point to strong disapproval of Governor Sergio Cabral, who, under the current circumstances, would hardly be elected to the Senate. Today, only 2% consider his administration excellent and 17% rate it as good. The sum of bad and terrible reaches 42%, with 36% rating it as average.
President Dilma Rousseff, in turn, recovered strongly in Rio de Janeiro. If the elections were held today, she would have 49% of the vote, compared to 13% for Aécio Neves (PSDB) and 9% for Eduardo Campos (PSN).
