Three people were arrested in Bahia in an operation against a company that failed to deliver ventilators to states in the Northeast.

According to investigations, which are also taking place in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Brasília, the company received R$ 48 million for a set of ventilators, failed to deliver them, and has not yet returned the money.

247 - An operation by the Bahia Civil Police arrested three people on Monday morning (1st), because a company sold and did not deliver respirators to the Northeast Consortium. According to investigations, which are also taking place in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasília, the company received R$ 48 million for a set of respirators, did not deliver them and has not yet returned the money. 

Police reported that the group targeted in the operation specializes in fraud, specifically in the sale of hospital equipment. They also stated that over 100 bank accounts linked to the group have been frozen by the courts.

In addition to the arrests, Operation Ragnarok aims to execute 15 search and seizure warrants in Salvador, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília. 

The group was discovered following a complaint from the Northeast Consortium, which attempted to acquire ventilators to combat the coronavirus.
