Roseana on PMDB-MA: "it's time for unity"
Former governor Roseana Sarney reportedly met individually with state representative Roberto Costa and former secretary Ricardo Murad. In the meeting with Roberto, José Sarney's daughter acknowledged that her brother-in-law (Murad) is largely responsible for last year's defeat and the disintegration of the party in the state. "I really want Murad to explode, Roberto," she allegedly told the allied representative. Roseana reportedly asked Murad to control his daughter Andrea's outbursts and avoid the spotlight as much as possible, arguing that the moment is serious because of the unfolding of Operation Lava Jato and the intensification of the fight against loan sharking. "It's a time for unity, not dispute," Roseana pleaded.
Maranhão 247, with Jorge Vieira's Blog - Contrary to what was reported by the official media outlets of the Sarney clan, the meetings promoted by Roseana Sarney to try and calm the unsustainable crisis gripping the local PMDB party were anything but conciliatory. In conversations with parliamentarians close to the Sarney group, the blog learned that the former governor met individually with state representative Roberto Costa and former secretary Ricardo Murad.
During the meeting with Roberto, José Sarney's daughter acknowledged that her brother-in-law (Murad) is largely responsible for last year's defeat and the disintegration of the party in the state. "I really want Murad to explode, Roberto," she reportedly told the allied congressman.
In the PMDB-MA there is a "war" between the group of the former health secretary, Ricardo Murad and the deputy Roberto Costa, sponsored in the party by Senator João Alberto. The strain in the relationship between the two increased after the arrests of mayors, deputy mayors and loan sharks linked to the Sarney group. This Wednesday (5), deputy Roberto Costa criticized the statement by deputy Andrea Murad, who asked for punishment for the current mayor of Bacuri (MA) Richard Nixon (PMDB), from the PMDB wing linked to Costa's group.
“No one can start accusing everyone here, forgetting about their own family. Forgetting about the father (Ricardo Murad). I'm not saying he (the former Secretary of Health) is guilty, but he has far more lawsuits against him than the mayor of Bacuri. So he deserves the same expulsion from the PMDB,” Costa stated, referring to Andrea, during a press interview at the Assembly.
Roseana raised her voice against Ricardo Murad. She asked him to control his daughter Andrea's outbursts and avoid the spotlight as much as possible, arguing that the moment is serious because of the unfolding of Operation Lava Jato and the intensification of the fight against loan sharking. "It's a time for unity, not dispute," the former governor pleaded.
Disruptive by nature, Ricardo has encouraged the division within the PMDB and the weakening of leadership linked to Senator João Alberto's group, with a view to his election for the party's leadership.
Following yesterday's session of the Legislative Assembly, the party's internal crisis was exposed. Roberto Costa even threatened to request a Parliamentary Inquiry Commission on Health during a heated exchange with Deputy Souza Neto, Murad's son-in-law; he also suggested to Andrea Murad that she request her father's expulsion from the PMDB.
