Roseana demands João Alberto step down as president of the MDB.
Roseana Sarney, a pre-candidate for governor of Maranhão, is demanding control of the party in the state, currently presided over by Senator João Alberto. Despite being a long-time ally of José Sarney, the senator has been losing ground within the group, and even saw federal deputy Sarney Filho (PV) take his place as a pre-candidate for the Senate. Whoever controls the MDB will control the Party Fund.

Now, the daughter of former president José Sarney (MDB) demands that, in order to enter the race, she must have control of all the funds allocated to the state directorate by the Party Fund, definitively sidelining João Alberto.
