247 - Rafael Fonteles (PT) and Themístocles Filho (MDB) were sworn in as governor and vice-governor of Piauí, respectively, this Sunday (1), in a ceremony at the state's Legislative Assembly.

"For 100 years, Piauí was a fourth-division state; it couldn't even be relegated. In the last 20 years, we left the second division of social indicators. We went from last place in everything to a higher category. We still have many challenges to overcome, whether structural or cyclical, given the economic and social disaster of the federal government that has just ended, thank God. Our purpose is to take Piauí to the first division with our government plan, which carries this commitment. It is, above all, a humane government plan," declared the new governor in his speech.
