With the election campaign approaching, negotiations involving party switching are also intensifying in municipalities.
247 - The PT of Ceará announced, this Thursday (13), the arrival of 12 new mayors to the party. Four of them come from the PDT of the former governor of the state and presidential candidate Ciro Gomes. With the affiliations, the party now has 29 mayors in the state, which has 184 municipalities. Three of the mayors come from Bolsonaro's party, the PL. The other five came from Republicanos, PCdoB, PSDB, MDB and PSol, according to information from Estadão.
In light of the election campaign, negotiations involving party switching have also intensified in municipalities. In the legislature, the party window, the period during which state and federal representatives can switch parties, runs from March 3rd to April 1st.
"Our party is stronger than ever and prepared to build a strong platform for Lula in Ceará. It's admirable to see the commitment and affection of these new names," wrote federal deputy José Guimarães on his Twitter.
