247 - Pilot Daniel Santos, 36, was found dead on Thursday night (27), in Ubatuba, Granja locality, municipality in the interior of Ceará. He is originally from Espírito Santo and was participating in a rally that was to take place between Parnaíba, on the coast of Piauí, and Maranhão. The last stage of the event was canceled due to the search for Daniel, who had been missing since Wednesday (26). According to a statement released by the event organizers, Daniel was found lying on a trail. There were no signs of violence on his body, nor of an accident or possible crime. The motorcycle was upright, with the helmet beside it. "The entire Rally Cerapió team expresses its condolences to Daniel's family and friends," the statement concludes.

The cancellation of the last stage happened because the driver, who was participating in the competition, disappeared on Wednesday (26), when he did not return from the trail.

Rescue teams conducted searches in the regions of the municipalities of Viçosa, Buira, Juá dos Vieiras, Padre Vieira, Cocal, and Brejinho, between the states of Ceará and Piauí.

"There is no atmosphere among the competitors, the organization, nor the physical conditions of the rescue team to continue the event," the organization said in an official statement.
