The suspended civil servant, identified as João Pedro Ferreira Belo Daumas, worked in the Planning and Management Superintendency of Alepe (Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco). According to the Federal Police, businessman Sebastião Figueiroa, owner of companies that won bids for graphic and office supplies, is also under investigation. The suspects were indicted for the crimes of corruption, influence peddling, and improper waiver of bidding procedures.
In total, agents executed four warrants at the Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco (Alepe) and another six at addresses linked to the suspects in the municipalities of Recife and Ipojuca, in the Metropolitan Region, and in Gravatá, in the Agreste region of the state.
