MOB launches new line in the Metropolitan region.
The state government, through the Maranhão Port Administration Company – EMAP, is also carrying out renovations at the Ponta da Espera Terminal, which will provide greater comfort to citizens using the new line; currently, the Metropolitan Express Lines serve the municipalities of São José de Ribamar, Paço do Lumiar and Raposa and, in the Tocantina Region, Imperatriz, João Lisboa and Senador La Rocque; in the metropolitan region of São Luís, 40 trips are made daily, transporting 4 people on each line and benefiting 12 passengers per day.
The Metropolitan Express Line begins the second half of this year with a major service expansion. With great approval on the island of São Luís and the Tocantina Region, last Friday, the 05th, the Express Line VI – Ponta da Espera/São Luís Bus Terminal began connecting the Waterway Transportation System to the Road Transportation System of the capital.
Consequently, the Express Line VI – Ponta da Espera/São Luís Bus Terminal will also benefit the Itaqui-Bacanga area, one of the most populous in São Luís, providing another transportation option for users in the region.

The expansion includes a fleet of 06 new buses, which follow the same model already used on other lines, with air conditioning, padded seats, and a wheelchair lift. In addition, the bus schedules are synchronized with the ferry schedules, ensuring passengers wait as little as possible at the terminals.
The service has a fare of R$ 3,10 and will also feature remote GPS monitoring technology, allowing users to know when the bus will pass through a specific stop via the "Meu ônibus MOB" app.
“The expansion of the service allows the two modes of transport to integrate, facilitating travel for intercity transport users who will be able to move directly from one terminal to another in new and comfortable buses. This is another step that MOB is taking towards quality public transport, a right of every citizen,” comments Artur Cabral, president of MOB.
The state government, through the Maranhão Port Administration Company – EMAP, is also carrying out renovations at the Ponta da Espera Terminal, which will provide more comfort to citizens using the new line. "This is yet another service provided by the Government of Maranhão for the citizens," stated the president of EMAP, Ted Lago.
He also noted that the new line will integrate road transport with ferry terminals. “We are delivering a new convenience area at Ponta da Espera and, at the Cujupe Terminal, the construction of new walkways is being completed. Cujupe will also undergo a major project, which will transform it into a multimodal terminal, also encompassing road transport,” he said.
