Lula defends Raquel Lyra, booed by PT members: "A political opponent is not an enemy" (video)
"She's not here because she wants to be, she's here because we invited her," said the President of the Republic about the governor of Pernambuco during an event in Recife.
247 - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) defended the governor of Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra (PSDB), this Wednesday (22), when she was booed by PT members during an event in Recife, for the relaunch of the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), created in 2003, within the scope of Zero Hunger.
"I think that when you were booing Governor Raquel Lyra, you were booing me," said Lula. "She's not here because she wants to be, she's here because we invited her. It would be so much more important if the people who have the freedom to boo the governor, on our stage, invited by us, had booed Bolsonaro during the last four years he was president. It would be so much easier. It would be so much nicer. We need to learn to coexist with adversaries. What we cannot learn is to coexist with enemies."
