Lula and Marília draw a crowd through the streets of Recife (videos)

A day after Bolsonaro spoke about a sparsely attended rally in Recife, the former president and the gubernatorial candidate led thousands of people through the streets of the Pernambuco capital.

247 - Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the candidate for governor of Pernambuco from Solidariedade, Marilia Arraes, dragged a crowd through the streets of downtown Recife this Friday (14). 

The march began in Treze de Maio Park, in the central area of ​​the capital of Pernambuco. Lula and Marília are together in the Brazil of Hope Coalition, formed by the FÉ BRASIL (Workers' Party, Green Party, and PC do B) and PSOL/REDE, PSB, Solidariedade, PROS, Avante, and Agir federations.

In the morning, Lula and Marília gave a press conference. On that occasion, the candidate defended democracy in Brazil and stated that it is necessary to "put fascism where it belongs, in the dustbin of Brazilian history."

Lula's visit to Recife is part of the former president's agenda in the Northeast states that will contest the second round and have Lula's support.

On Thursday (13) Jair Bolsonaro (PL), running for re-election, was also in Recife. However, unlike Lula, Bolsonaro had an empty event.On social media, users even compared the two events.
