Lobão Filho and the 2016 election: "neither yes nor no"
Alternate senator Lobão Filho (PMDB) has not yet given up on running for another election; according to sources close to the PMDB member, he has said that he still doesn't know if he will run for mayor of São Luís in 2016; "Neither yes nor no. He's still reflecting. The election is only next year, much will still be discussed," revealed a source.

After being defeated by Flávio Dino, Edinho disappeared from the political scene, giving the impression that he would abandon his political career. According to sources close to Lobinho, he has said that he still doesn't know if he will run for mayor of São Luís in 2016.
"Neither yes nor no. He's still thinking about it. The election isn't until next year, there's still a lot to be discussed," a well-placed source revealed to the blog's editor.
What has led friends, supporters, and sympathizers to encourage Lobão Filho to run for mayor of São Luís is the good results obtained by the PMDB member in the polls. From the Sarney group, Edinho is currently the best positioned.
According to the most recent poll to gauge the preference of voters in São Luís regarding the electoral race, conducted by the Conceito institute, the son of Senator Edison Lobão appears with 11,8% of voting intentions, in third place, behind the current mayor, Edivaldo Holanda Júnior, and Eliziane Gama. He is well ahead of Governor Roseana Sarney and former Secretary Ricardo Murad, who registered high rejection rates.
