Maranhao 247 – “It’s above great,” assesses the Most Serene Grand Master of Freemasonry of Maranhão, Ubiratan João de Castro, regarding the Flávio Dino Government. Around 40 directors of the institution had lunch with the governor, this Monday (11), at Palácio dos Leões. On the agenda, partnerships in social programs such as Mais IDH.

According to Ubiratan, Freemasonry is a partner of the State Government in the pursuit of reducing inequalities and promoting social justice. An example of this is the organization's collaboration in the Mais IDH (More Human Development Index) program in the poorest municipalities of Maranhão.

“We will continue a series of programs that we have already been doing together,” emphasizes the Grand Master, who on that occasion presented the governor with the title of Honorary Venerable and the gavel, a symbol of power in Freemasonry.

Convergence of purposes

According to Flávio Dino, Freemasonry contributes to the development of Maranhão by engaging in philanthropic actions aimed at alleviating poverty. The organization's institutional support for the government's political program demonstrates the alignment of objectives between the two.

It is the Government of Maranhão and civil society working side by side to improve the state's social indicators.

"Because of all this shared agenda, all this convergence, it was a moment for exchanging opinions and ideas, aiming for a reiteration of this convergence of purposes in every sphere of action – government and civil society," the governor added.
