The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office had already expressed the same opinion, stating that there was no element of irregularity linked to the senator.

247 - The 2nd Criminal Court of the Federal Justice of Salvador (BA) decided to uphold the dismissal of the case against Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) in the Lava Jato operation. According to Federal Judge Fábio Moreira Ramiro, "there is no concrete evidence to support the accusations." The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) had already expressed the same opinion, stating that there was no element of irregularity linked to Wagner.

The president of the Workers' Party of Bahia, Éden Valadares, criticized the political persecution of PT members by members of Lava Jato, many of whose decisions were overturned by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), which found the actions of the operation, led by then federal judge and current senator Sergio Moro, to be one of the biggest judicial errors in Brazilian history.

“Wagner was a victim of the biggest political farce and legal fraud in Brazil. A process that had evident and proven flaws, political objectives, and resulted in Moro and Bolsonaro coming to power,” Éden emphasized. “When politics enters a court, justice goes out the window. And unfortunately, that's what happened. Wagner was the target of a dishonest campaign because he is the great figure he is for the PT in Bahia and in Brazil. That is the truth.”
