According to Roma Neto, he approached the leadership of the Republicanos party to propose a deal: to forgo Roma's candidacy for governor of Bahia in exchange for a vice-governor position or a Senate seat.
Metropolises - The Minister of Citizenship, João Roma, sought out colleagues from his party, the Republicans, to complain about what he describes as an attempt to "dig up" him by the former mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto (DEM), in this year's elections.
To his supporters, Roma said that Neto has been working to try to undermine a possible candidacy of the Minister of Citizenship for governor of Bahia, a position that the former mayor also intends to run for in October.
According to Roma, Neto approached the national leadership of the Republicanos party to propose a deal: the party would forgo launching Roma's candidacy for governor of Bahia and, in exchange, would gain the vice-governorship or Senate seat on the former mayor's ticket.
