In addition to the restructuring of the Pai Inácio Bridge, the work covers 8.565 meters in length, connecting General Arthur Carvalho Street, in Turu, to Travessa Nossa Senhora da Vitória, in the Parque Vitória neighborhood. Initiated in partnership with the city of São Luís in 2015, the government of Maranhão invested R$ 57 million through the Mais Asfalto Program to build new urban roads and improve existing ones, as well as reduce congestion in access between neighborhoods. More than 130 km of streets have already been restored or built.

In addition to the Turu and Parque Vitória neighborhoods, the partnership between the Government of Maranhão and the City Hall included the neighborhoods of Anjo da Guarda, Vila Embratel, Cidade Operária, Cohab, João de Deus, São Bernardo, Vila Luizão, Coroadinho, Vila Nova República, São Raimundo, Vila Bacanga, Vila Isabel, Vila Ariri, Vila São Luís, Vila Mauro Fecury I, Vila Mauro Fecury II and Alto da Esperança.

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Clayton Noleto, pointed out that the agreement with the City of São Luís includes 14 interventions under the Interbairros Program, as well as another 130 km of paving for streets and avenues.

“It’s a partnership that yields objective results, to improve everyone’s lives. We are committed to following Governor Flávio Dino’s recommendations and closely monitoring the proper application of resources, and we will continue working to achieve the results that the population expects,” said Noleto.
