Flávio Dino wants the PT's support to "pay for his sins."
Berenice Gomes, a member of the PT's national leadership, questioned whether Flávio Dino was God and reminded everyone that the PCdoB held positions in Roseana Sarney's government when she was affiliated with the PFL, now DEM; in addition to the PT members, the pre-candidate for governor wants the PSDB of Aécio Neves and the PSB of Eduardo Campos on his platform.
MARANHÃO 247 - Flávio Dino (PCdoB), a pre-candidate for governor of Maranhão, said today in an interview with the Carta Capital magazine website that he hopes for an alliance with the PT so that the party can atone for its sins.
"I am an incorrigible optimist and I am a Christian. I believe that people change to pay for their sins. The sin of having supported Roseana Sarney in 2010 and of having helped elect this disastrous government. Disastrous for Maranhão, for human rights, and for the development of the country," Dino stated.
The Workers' Party's response to Flávio Dino came from Berenice Gomes, a member of the party's national leadership. "Flávio Dino has condemned the Workers' Party to sin; all that's left is to excommunicate us after exhorting us. Is he God?" the leader asked.
Berenice Gomes also recalled the sins of the PCdoB, noting that in two previous governments of Roseana Sarney – at the time in the PFL – the communists held government positions.
"In 2002, the PCdoB of Maranhão held important positions in Roseana's government. Among them were the regional management of Zé Doca, the presidency of the Maranhão Land Institute, among others. At that time, the PFL was allied with FHC, and there was no guidance from the national leadership of the PCdoB," Berenice Gomes pointed out.
Blogger Robert Lobato points out that since the early 90s, the PCdoB (Communist Party of Brazil) in Maranhão maintained political relations and held positions in the governments of allies of the Sarney clan.
Lobato also said that Flávio Dino's current PT allies did not support him when he ran for mayor of São Luís in 2008. "The PT militants who are now Dino supporters, in 2008 supported the then PSDB candidate, João Castelo, in the municipal election. Have they already received penance from the PCdoB for the sin of not supporting Dino?", said Lobato.
Dino stated in the interview that he has already submitted his resignation from the position of president of Embratur to the Minister of Tourism, Gastão Vieira (PMDB), and expects to leave the entity this week to dedicate himself to building his candidacy.
In addition to the PT, Flávio Dino wants the parties Aécio Neves (PSDB) and Eduardo Campos (PSB) on his campaign platform in the Maranhão election.
