From Fórum magazine – Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (without party affiliation) held, this Wednesday (1), with state deputy Jaziel Pereira, from Ceará, a live broadcast in which he criticized the suspension of in-person services in churches.

Pastor and doctor Jaziel called the Covid-19 pandemic an "omen" and called religious worship an essential activity: "It's an emotional balm, spiritual comfort." Praising Bolsonaro's actions, he also said: "We will open the churches, within the established guidelines, and if they want to arrest people, let them. Release the criminals and arrest the priests, pastors, and good people."

Eduardo agreed: “Those who attack churches are usually the same ones who advocate for decarceration.” The congressman also suggested that religious freedom is being threatened and that the pandemic is being exploited by leaders to steer Brazil towards socialism.
