In view of the upcoming vote on the federal budget and the possibility of increasing Maranhão's participation in federal government investments, Governor Flávio Dino requested the support and commitment of the Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies in Brasília to include issues of interest to the state in the amendments made to the budget bill. The meeting took place in the Noble Hall of the Palácio dos Leões, in São Luís.
The areas that demand the most attention from the State Government and which, for this reason, were prioritized in the dialogue with the Speaker of the House are health, education, and urban mobility. Now, with Congressman Waldir Maranhão in this important role in the Chamber, we are entrusting him with the most important demands of our state, which require joint action from all political forces,” said Flávio Dino.
In the area of education, the joint effort of the Government of Maranhão and federal deputies will also be necessary to achieve the goal of eradicating mud and clay schools in the coming years. According to Waldir Maranhão, the Maranhão delegation is united in its intention to collaborate in the recovery of the state's social indicators, improving the lives of Maranhão residents who live in the interior cities.
Urban mobility, with a primary focus on the capital city, is a topic of discussion throughout the country and was also addressed in the meeting held with Congressman Waldir Maranhão. Through partnerships, the State Government and the City Hall of São Luís are already making progress on actions to improve mobility. During the meeting, it was emphasized to the acting president of the Chamber that São Luís should be included in the national agenda for investments in the sector.
