From the blog of Silvia Tereza - The current governor and pre-candidate for re-election, Flávio Dino (PCdoB), has widened his lead over former governor Roseana Sarney (PMDB) in Imperatriz. This is according to a survey by the Interpretar Institute, conducted exclusively for the Correio Popular newspaper, regarding the voting intentions of Imperatriz residents for the 2018 elections.

According to the survey, in August Dino had 51% of the valid votes in Imperatriz, compared to Roseana's 23%. By November, Dino had risen to 65% of the valid votes, while Roseana's fluctuated to 26%. The advantage, which was 28 percentage points, increased to 39 points.

In other words, in the last four months the communist candidate has gained more than ten percentage points in valid votes among voters in Imperatriz. This has increased his lead and he could win in the first round – at least if the votes of Imperatriz residents are not enough.
