Maranhao 247 - Federal deputy Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA) got into a fight at Brasília airport with a citizen who criticized the congressman for signing the amendment that provides for prison sentences of six months to two years for judges, prosecutors, and public prosecutors who commit the crime of abuse of authority. Judges, for example, can be punished if they speak about a case under trial. The congressman had the support of 16 government and opposition parties.

"Did you see that Lava Jato said that all the prosecutors will resign because of your amendment?" said the voter, who identified himself as Ricardo.

Prosecutors from Operation Lava Jato stated this Wednesday (30) that they may collectively resign from the case if the proposal on abuse of authority is sanctioned by President Michel Temer. The measure was inserted into the text of the ten measures against corruption by the Chamber in the early hours of this Wednesday (30). "We will collectively resign from Lava Jato if this proposal is sanctioned by the president," said Carlos Fernando Lima, Public Prosecutor.

The congressman retorted to the voter. "The Federal Police issued a statement saying that they are responsible for the investigation," the congressman stated. "One career cannot think it can bring the whole of Brazil to a standstill. If you are protecting corrupt judges and prosecutors in Brazil, that's your problem," he added.
