Brazil Agency - Approximately R$15 million was initially made available to assist municipalities in Bahia affected by the heavy rains of recent weeks. Furthermore, almost R$50 million is “in the process of being released,” according to the Minister of Regional Development, Rogério Marinho, interviewed this Wednesday (29) on the program. The Voice of Brazil.

“We carried out a series of actions related to rescuing people, transporting food to areas that lacked the capacity to connect to their usual logistical system, clearing roads, and providing medicines. This is what we call a response: initially, we made resources available so that municipalities could purchase food and supplies,” he explained.

A second phase, which the department refers to as recovery, includes restoring essential services that were interrupted during the storms, such as water and electricity supply, as well as debris removal in the cities. "The third phase, which is still to come, is the reconstruction of any physical infrastructure that may have been damaged," Marinho added.
