Candidate seeking re-election takes the lead in Alagoas.

Paulo Dantas (MDB) has already garnered 57,46% of the votes. Rodrigo Cunha, from União Brasil, has 42,54%.

247 With more than 13% of the votes counted, the candidate seeking re-election, Paulo Dantas (MDB), already has 57,46% of the votes. Rodrigo Cunha, from União Brasil, has 42,54%.

Among voters in Alagoas, former president Lula (PT) is the preferred candidate: 63,49%. Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has 36,64% of the votes. 

In the final stretch of the campaign, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) ordered the return of Paulo Dantas to the position of governor of Alagoas. The decision reversed a ruling by the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) that had removed Dantas from office in the midst of the electoral contest.
