Camilo Santana: "Fake news can never be considered freedom of expression."

The governor of Ceará reacted to Jair Bolsonaro's statement that he will appeal to the Supreme Court to try to unblock the Twitter accounts of his supporters.

247 - The governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana (PT), reacted to News that Jair Bolsonaro will appeal to the Supreme Court. to try to unblock the Twitter accounts of his supporters, by decision by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the fake news inquiry at the court.

"Freedom of speech always. Fake news never. Fake news can never be considered freedom of speech. Fake news is a crime. It seeks to deceive people and destroy reputations. And for those who commit crimes, there is only one measure: the full force of the law," Camilo Santana posted on Twitter.

Shortly before, to justify his decision, Bolsonaro resorted to the argument of freedom of expression. According to him, the Adin [Direct Action of Unconstitutionality] in the STF aims "at the fulfillment of constitutional provisions. An action based on the clarity of Article 5 [of the Constitution], of fundamental rights and guarantees".
