Marrapá Blog - The vice-governor of Maranhão and president of the PSDB party, Carlos Brandão, will travel to Brasília next week to meet with the party's national president, Senator Tasso Jereissati (CE). The objective of the meeting is to demand explanations from the party following the affiliation of Senator Roberto Rocha. Brandão intends to express the discontent of the majority of members with a possible candidacy of Roberto for Governor of Maranhão.

In an interview with the newspaper MA Acontece on TV Guará, this Monday (18), the tucano explained the situation. “Next week I will have a conversation with him in the same way I had in the meeting with the party presidents, to clarify everything, about our reality. To talk about the unease of the party members with the arrival of Senator Roberto Rocha, because most understand that his arrival is to carry out his project and not the party's.”

According to the vice-governor, there is unease among the main leaders of the PSDB party that could result in a general exodus if the national directorate heeds the senator's wishes. It is precisely this sentiment that Brandão will bring to the table for President Jereissati.

"If the decision rests with just one person, it's simple math. What's better, having a group of people, a base, or having a general without an army? The one who wins the war is a general with an army, not a general without one."

The politician also described as undignified the way Roberto decided to join the PSDB, without consulting or at least talking to local leaders.
