'Bolsonaro is doing terrible things to the people and needs to be removed from power, and those who support him too,' says Jerônimo Rodrigues.

The PT candidate in Bahia criticized his opponent, ACM Neto, who has a history of supporting Bolsonaro and tried to link his image to Lula in these elections, even though he remained neutral in the second round.

247 - The PT candidate for governor of Bahia, Jerome RodriguesHe described his opponent ACM Neto (União Brasil) as 'opportunistic' and 'cowardly' for remaining neutral regarding the second round of the presidential race between former president Lula (PT) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in an interview given to the newspaper. The Globe this Friday (14).

With a past aligned with Bolsonaro, ACM Neto tried to associate his image with Lula in these elections, given that the Workers' Party presidential candidate is the favorite among the population in the state, having received 69,73% of the valid votes in the first round. When asked about this move by the União Brasil candidate, Jerônimo responded: "We will work to expose this untrue and deceitful performance. He doesn't like Lula, but he remains neutral. A federal government that is perverse towards the people, like Bolsonaro's, needs to be removed from power. And those who support him cannot assume power."

"He's an opportunist. In the past, he threatened to beat up Lula. He's aggressive all the time. He does have a side. His allies have always appointed people to positions in the Bolsonaro government. He campaigned for Bolsonaro in 2018. Bahia's politics need to get rid of this. He's cowardly, he doesn't have the courage to take a stand and acts this way, staying on the fence." He changed color. He began his public life as white and, suddenly, became mixed-race."These behaviors are no longer compatible with politics. Bahia will not accept this," added the Workers' Party member.

The candidate, who also previously served as Secretary of Education in Bahia, stated that there are structural problems and issues that cannot be resolved solely at the state level, requiring a programmatic alignment with the federal government: "The first round made the people of Bahia understand the importance of polarization. People have already understood that there are issues that are not limited to the state. Hunger, employment, and structural issues must indeed be nationalized."

Jerônimo also spoke about strategies to increase PT votes in the state in the second roundRegarding both himself and former President Lula: "The second round is a new election, in which we have equal radio and TV time. I intend to use this space to explore our proposals and the legacy of the PT's mandates in Bahia. The state gave Lula 4 million votes in the first round, and we have the mission of increasing that number. I have been forging alliances and securing support from mayors, former mayors, and deputies. We already have the guarantee that Lula will come to Bahia on at least one more occasion. The intention is to hold another march in Salvador and in strategic municipalities, such as Feira de Santana."
