In more than a year of misrule, he has only persecuted the Northeast because he was defeated in our region. It is important that the National Congress demand an explanation for this unacceptable fact, which exacerbates inequality and social problems in our region,” stated Robinson.

A report by Estadão also reveals that the state of Santa Catarina, governed by Carlos Moisés (PSL), an ally of Bolsonaro, received twice as much as the Northeast, despite having a population eight times smaller. “It’s clear that this is political retaliation, yet another one, by Bolsonaro against the Northeast. And this needs to be fought, since our region is the poorest in Brazil precisely because governments, before Lula and Dilma, turned their backs on the Northeast. But with Bolsonaro, this has been worse, and he needs to be held accountable by Congress and Brazilian society,” declared the PT member.
