247 - The meeting of the Fiscal Council of União Brasil, held on Thursday morning (23), ended in a stalemate. The meeting, whose main agenda was the approval of the accounts of the Índigo Foundation, chaired by the former mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto, generated a split among the members of the group. The information is from the portal Bahia News.

According to information published by the Lauro Jardim Blog, from the newspaper The GlobeTwo of the council's advisors promised to contact the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) and the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) to investigate the foundation's management, especially regarding the use of party funds.

The Fiscal Council of União Brasil is composed of two federal deputies — Elmar Nascimento, president of the group, and Pauderney Avelino — in addition to two advisors: Ricardo Motta Lobo and Rodrigo Gomes Furtado. During the meeting, the advisors questioned the transparency of the information provided for the approval of the accounts of the Índigo Foundation. Motta Lobo and Furtado drafted a document formalizing their dissatisfaction with the process, which they considered flawed, and criticized the stance of Elmar Nascimento, who chose to forward the accounts for consideration by the Board of Trustees, a higher instance within the party, instead of proceeding with the vote in the Fiscal Council itself.

In a statement, the advisors expressed total disagreement with Elmar's decision and reiterated that the procedure disrespects the Statute of União Brasil. The document requests that oversight bodies, such as the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office and the Federal Court of Accounts, conduct due audits of the management of the Índigo Foundation. "Given the above, we maintain the disapproval of the aforementioned accounts under the terms stipulated in the statutory regulations, and inform that the respective request is being forwarded to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office and the Federal Court of Accounts for their information, investigation, and indictment of the respective responsible parties, aiming at the preservation of public funds," says the text prepared by the advisors.
