Congresswoman demands explanations from Moro regarding the director of the National Force at a meeting of military police officers in Ceará.

Congresswoman Alice Portugal emphasizes that the support given by Colonel Antônio Aginaldo de Oliveira, husband of Congresswoman Carla Zambelli, to the mutinous military police officers in Ceará is illegal. "The exercise of public functions requires strict adherence to the Constitution and the laws," she says.

Alice Portugal: With a united progressive field, we will win the elections.

247 - Congresswoman Alice Portugal (PCdoB-BA) filed a request in the House on Wednesday (4) asking the Minister of State for Justice, Sergio Moro, for information about the participation of the director of the National Public Security Force, Colonel Antônio Aginaldo de Oliveira, in an assembly of mutinous military police officers from Ceará, on the night of last Sunday.

The congresswoman emphasizes that the colonel's support for the military police is illegal, since his attitude was not befitting a public official who heads a national security force created to operate in areas and conflicts where state security forces prove insufficient.

“This is a blatantly illegal action, inappropriate for the position the colonel holds. The exercise of public functions requires its holders to strictly comply with the Constitution and the laws, conduct themselves responsibly and with balance, and act with integrity in the performance of the activities inherent to their positions. Therefore, I want Moro to explain whether the ministry has initiated any type of administrative procedure to investigate the director's actions at the police assembly, and if not, what legal grounds support this decision. Brazil is currently facing serious attacks on democracy and the Federal Constitution by this current government. We need to stop these illegalities,” explains Alice.
