247 - The Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship, Silvio Almeida, said that former minister Anderson Torres was responsible for signing a contract for the supply of food to prisons in the Federal District. Almeida commented on the prison system in the same week that Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes visited the Papuda Penitentiary Complex and tasted the food, which, according to him, was... "chaotic".

According to Almeida, “the average value of the contracted meal unit, the unit price of the meal, is R$ 0,90”. “Lunch, R$ 3,36. Dinner, R$ 3,31. Do you know who signed this contract? The former Secretary of State for Public Security of the Federal District, Mr. Anderson Torres”, said the minister in a public hearing at the Chamber of Deputies, this Wednesday (12).

Torres has been in jail since January, accused of negligence and complicity in acts of vandalism against the buildings of the Three Branches of Government.
