Holding back tears, the president-elect said that "he was questioned so many times for not having a university degree."
247 - President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) became emotional this Monday (12) in speech at the inauguration ceremony, in Brasília (DF).
"I was reminded of the audacity of the Brazilian people in granting – to someone so often questioned for not having a university degree – the title of President of the Republic," he stated.
"Anyone who has gone through what I've gone through over the past few years is certain that God exists," he said.
The president-elect stressed that Brazil needs to resume the path of development and rights especially for the poorest people.
