The final hearing in the Villela case has been scheduled.
This Friday (30) the accused Paulo Cardoso Santana and Francisco Mairlon Barros Aguiar will be heard; at the end, the judge should announce whether the process will go to a jury trial.
Brasília 247 - The judge of the Brasília Jury Court scheduled for this Friday (30), starting at 9 am, another procedural instruction hearing of the so-called Villela Case. Minister José Guilherme Villela, his wife Maria Carvalho Mendes Villela and the couple's maid, Francisca Nascimento da Silva, were murdered in August 2009, in 113 Sul. The interrogations of two defendants, Paulo Cardoso Santana and Francisco Mairlon Barros Aguiar, are scheduled. The other two defendants, the couple's daughter, Adriana Villela, and the former doorman of the building where the family lived, Leonardo Campos Alves, testified at the hearing on March 16.
This will be the eleventh hearing in the case, whose records already total more than 11 pages in 56 volumes. Between November 2011 and February 2012, nine hearings were held, during which approximately forty witnesses were heard. Other testimonies were obtained through letters rogatory.
After questioning the defendants, the judge must issue a ruling determining whether the accused will be submitted to a jury trial.
