TRF-2 grants habeas corpus to former minister Silas Rondeau and others arrested in a Federal Police operation.

Silas Rondeau, Minister of Mines and Energy from 2005 to 2007, was not arrested and was negotiating to turn himself in later that Thursday.

From Metrópoles - Federal judge Antonio Ivan Athie, of the Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region (TRF-2), granted, at the end of the afternoon of this Thursday (June 25), habeas corpus to release Ana Cristina da Silva Toniolo, one of those arrested in Operation Fiat Lux, launched this morning. 

The operation also served warrants against Silas Rondeau, former minister under Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and also Aníbal Ferreira Gomes, Luis Carlos Batista de Sá, Paulo Sérgio Vaz de Arruda, Nelson Aristeu Caminada Sabra, Álvaro Monteiro da Silva Lopes, Pérsio José Gomes Jordani, João Lúcio dos Reis Filho, Sérgio Mauro Letichevsky, José Eduardo Telles Villas, and Patrício Junqueira. All were included in Athie's decision. Silas Rondeau was not arrested. He was negotiating to turn himself in later that Thursday.
