Coup plot: Braga Netto denies involvement in plan to kill Lula, Moraes, and Alckmin.
The former Defense Minister also said that he did not hand over money to Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid.
247 - Retired General Walter Braga Netto stated, in final arguments submitted to the Supreme Federal Court (STF), that he had no involvement in the alleged plan called "Green and Yellow Dagger." The former Minister of Defense also said that he did not hand over money to Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former aide-de-camp to Jair Bolsonaro.
In the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Braga Netto is a defendant along with 30 other people, including the lieutenant and Bolsonaro himself.
According to information from the Attorney General's Office (PGR), a meeting held at Braga Netto's house and the delivery of money were related to the "Green and Yellow Dagger," identified as part of a coup plot involving the assassination of then-President Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
The defense claims that the general has no connection whatsoever with the document and disputes its very character as a "plan." "This document cannot even be called a plan, as it does not define any kind of concrete objective. It mentions several targets ('Jeca, Joca, Juca...') and does not define any specific action (shooting, poisoning, use of chemicals, explosive device...)."
