Enraged, Bolsonaro says the Supreme Court is preparing an "ambush" against him.
Jair Bolsonaro alternated between moments of anger and peace regarding the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on Wednesday night, the 17th. He said: “It’s like an ambush. You have to wait for the guy to get closer, then more come. They come throwing eggs, stones. They come closer, closer. I don’t want to measure forces with anyone, (but) they keep coming.”
247 Cornered by the surprising resourcefulness of the Brazilian Supreme Court, which does not back down from its attack on democratic order, Jair Bolsonaro alternates between moments of peace and war.
Less than 24 hours after saying he could not remain silent in the face of "abuses," the president oscillated between fury and signs of peace toward the Supreme Court. "It's like an ambush. You have to wait for the guy to get closer, then more come. They come throwing eggs, stones. They keep coming, they keep coming. I don't want to measure strength with anyone, (but) they keep coming," Bolsonaro stated while speaking to supporters at the entrance of the Alvorada Palace.
Bolsonaro once again sent messages to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) during the inauguration of the Minister of Communications, Fabio Faria, at the Presidential Palace. "It's not the institutions that tell the people what to do. It's the people who tell the institutions what to do," he said.
Bolsonaro also stated: “We must uphold the values of democracy so that we can achieve our goal. Our people expect freedom. We have a Constitution. Although some of us may disagree with certain articles, we are committed to honoring and respecting it for the common good.”
