Talita and Maria Elisa advance to the semifinals.

The duo was the only Brazilian team to advance directly to the semifinals; the girls defeated the top North American pairs; Juliana and Larissa will face the repechage.

Brasilia 247 – Talita and Maria Elisa put on a show at the World Tour arena set up on the Esplanade of Ministries. The Brazilians defeated the two top pairs from the United States. Juliana and Larissa lost one of their two matches of the day and are in the repechage. Vivian/Taiana, Ângela/Lili and Maria Clara/Raquel are out of the competition.

Talita and Maria Elisa started the day in the round of 16 by defeating the 2009 world champions, Kessy and Ross of the United States, by 2 sets to 1, with scores of 21/18, 19/21 and 15/11.

In the quarterfinals, another tough duel against the two-time Olympic champions Walsh and May. With a solid performance, the 2009 Brazilian champions overcame the Americans 2-0, with scores of 21/18 and 21/17, securing the pair's first victory over the three-time world champions.

The pair will only return to the court at 15 pm this Thursday (19), to play the semi-final. Their opponents, who will only be defined during the day, will be Cicolari/Menegatti, from Italy, Goller/Ludwig, from Germany, or Keizer/Van Iersel, from the Netherlands. The Chinese Chen eu and Zhang Xi are guaranteed in the other semi-final, which will take place afterwards. Their rivals could be Juliana/Larissa, Meppelink/van Gestel, from the Netherlands or Walsh/May, from the United States.
