The number of tourism companies in the Federal District has increased by 125%.

Brasilia Agency - The number of registrations of tourism companies and individuals operating in this sector increased by 125,6% in the months of August and September, compared to the same period last year, according to a report from the Registration Directorate of the Tourism Secretariat of the Federal District.

With new rules adopted by the Ministry of Tourism in July - which waives the requirement for tourism service providers to present an operating license - the Tourism Sector's Registry of Individuals and Legal Entities (Cadastur) showed that registrations in the Federal District increased from 82 to 185.

"Ministry decree No. 197 has made it easier for business owners and workers in the tourism sector of the Federal District to register and keep their information updated in accordance with the established regulations," stated the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal District, Luis Otávio Neves.
