The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ), ordered the dismissal of the House employee who released... rats today (9), in the plenary of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of Petrobras. The commotion occurred before the testimony of the PT treasurer, João Vaccari Neto. The information was given in the plenary by the president of the CPI of Petrobras, deputy Hugo Motta (PMDB-PB).

“The Speaker [of the House, Eduardo Cunha] has already summarily dismissed the employee who caused the problem at the beginning of our meeting. The employee has been fired and will be punished according to the law. We will demand that action be taken,” said Motta.

According to the chairman of the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry), the appointed civil servant Márcio Martins de Oliveira was assigned to the second vice-presidency of the Chamber, controlled by Congressman Fernando Giacobo (PR-RR).

The rats were released into the plenary session shortly after Vaccari arrived at the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry). Following the incident, the rapporteur of the Petrobras CPI, Deputy Luiz Sérgio (PT-RJ), said that the episode was a "pre-arranged action" and a "staged circus" that reflects poorly on the Brazilian Parliament.
