Secretaries may have to explain themselves in the Legislative Chamber.

District Representative Liliane Roriz filed a request with the Social Affairs Committee. She wants to hear from Rafael Barbosa and Paulo Tadeu regarding the alleged misappropriation of funds at the Ministry of Sports.

Noelle Oliveira _Brasília 247 – The president of the Social Affairs Committee (CAS) of the Legislative Chamber, Deputy Liliane Roriz (PSD), filed a request this Tuesday (8) to summon two secretaries of the Federal District government – Paulo Tadeu, of Government, and Rafael Barbosa, of Health – to explain themselves regarding the recent allegations involving Governor Agnelo Queiroz. Both were cited in the alleged scheme to divert funds from the Second Time program, of the Ministry of Sports. In the same document, the deputy asks to hear the military police officer João Dias, whistleblower of the alleged corruption scheme. "The investigation places the two strongest secretaries of the current government under suspicion of involvement in the alleged diversions of resources," said the author of the request. According to the parliamentarian, the summons of Paulo Tadeu is due to his links with non-governmental organizations that received money from the program. The summons of Rafael Barbosa is due to having signed allegedly irregular dispatches to benefit entities that received resources from the Second Time program.

The request will be analyzed by CAS members on Wednesday (9). According to Liliane Roriz, the summons by the commission is justified by the fact that the resources allegedly diverted were intended for social programs that would benefit needy communities in the DF.

Hearing at the Chamber of Deputies

This Wednesday (8), the Financial Oversight and Control Committee of the Chamber of Deputies will analyze the request from federal deputy Fernando Francischini (PSDB-PR) for Agnelo to be heard in a public hearing. The deputy argues that it is necessary to clarify the allegations about Agnelo Queiroz's alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds and irregularities in the transfer of funds to NGOs when he was Minister of Sport, in Lula's government. The parliamentarian will request a change in the agenda so that the request is the first item analyzed.

Among the accusations is the suspicion that Agnelo helped soldier João Dias to falsify evidence to defend himself against allegations of misappropriation of funds. "The information demonstrates the need to investigate the serious misappropriation of federal public funds and their destination," argues Francischini. If the request is approved, a date will be set for Agnelo Queiroz to appear before the House.
