Rui Falcão will be the president of the Chamber's CCJ, PT decides
The Constitution and Justice Committee analyzes the constitutionality of legislative initiatives. The Workers' Party is also reportedly aiming for positions on other committees.
247 - Federal deputy Rui Falcão (PT-SP) will be the next president of the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Chamber after decisions by internal party factions, which will have a meeting next Tuesday (13) to formalize the choice.
Following an agreement between the Workers' Party (PT) and the Liberal Party (PL), the party of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will control the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) this year, 2023, and the party of former President Jair Bolsonaro will control the committee the following year.
According to the O Globo newspaperThe party would also be aiming to have a presence on the Oversight and Control committees, which usually invite and summon ministers, and on the Education committee.
The CCJ (Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship) analyzes the constitutionality of legislative initiatives and is a mandatory stop for almost all texts that pass through the House.
